WHITEWATER KAYAK INSTRUCTION

Whether you are visiting the Boise area or have lived here all of your life- Riverroots has a kayak class that will get you on the river! We offer classes and instruction on both the Boise and Payette River. The Boise River flows through beautiful downtown Boise and contains class II whitewater. The Payette River is 45 minutes north of Boise and offers everything from splashy Class II wave trains to world famous Class III+ whitewater kayaking. Boise truly offers the best outdoor classroom to learn to whitewater kayak!

Brown Bag Kayak Sampler!

Price: $75.00

Bring your own brown bag lunch and SAVE! Come try out the exciting sport of kayaking for only $75.00 in this friendly and supportive atmosphere. We'll spend the morning on Quinn's Pond learning about the equipment needed for kayaking, practicing wet exits, and developing a solid foundation in paddling strokes. Then we will have a brown bag lunch at Ann Morrison Park. The afternoon will be spent kayaking on the Boise River learning about whitewater safety, learning to "read" the river, and practicing eddy turns, peel outs, and ferries.

This full day lesson includes use of all the equipment you need to participate, instruction, and transportation to and from the river. Class space is limited! Call Riverroots at 208-850-7637 to register.

Intermediate Kayak Clinic

Come take your kayaking skills to the next level on the Main Payette River! Work on your ferries, eddy turns, elevator moves, and surfing. If you're feeling comfortable with your flatwater roll, come practice it in moving water and wave trains! Class space is limited. Roll Clinics Price: $40.00

Attend Riverroots’ roll clinics in a swimming pool or pond to practice and perfect your kayak roll.  Learning to roll your kayak upright after a flip is an important element to progress your boating skills.  Our innovative teaching techniques and low instructor to student ratio offer you the best environment for learning this essential skill.
